Thai Pongal marked at Danish parliament

The Tamil festival of Thai Pongal was marked in parliament in Denmark on Monday with the minister of culture joining Danish Tamils to celebrate. 

Celebrations included dances and the making of traditional pongal (sweet rice). 

The event was addressed by the Mette Bock, Denmark's Minister of Culture, as well as the former chief justice of the Northern Province, C V Wigneswaran and the leader of the Tamil National People's Front (TNPF), Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam.
