Sri Lanka’s foreign minister Mangala Samaraweera said the UN’s High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid al-Hussain is expected to visit the country later this year.

Foreign Affairs Minister Mangala Samaraweera today said they are expecting UN Human Rights Chief Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein to visit Sri Lanka before the end of the year.

Mr Samaraweera said in March this year that Mr Zeid would visit in June, but the OHCHR denied the visit at the time.
