"We passed a declaration today which reiterates our long standing calls that the Tamil people are a nation, that the crimes committed against them by the Sri Lankan state constitutes a genocide, that this requires an international investigation and that in order to safe guard our people from the on going repression they face, an internationally mediated transitional administration is urgently needed," TNPF leader Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam told Tamil Guardian.

Despite the risks, our team on the ground remain committed to providing detailed and accurate reporting of developments in the Tamil homeland, across the island and around the world, as well as providing expert analysis and insight from the Tamil point of view

We need your support in keeping our journalism going. Support our work today.
