Ongoing hardships faced by Mullaitivu people discussed with visiting UK official

The political secretary to the British High Commission to Sri Lanka Tom Sofer met with the Northern Provincial Councillor T Ravikaran on Thursday morning in Mullaitivu.

A variety of issues were discussed during the hour long meeting, including whether the new president had brought improvements on the ground for the Tamil people and what action had been taken to rectify the ethnic tensions on the island.

The difficulties faced by Tamil fishermen in the Mullaitivu area, due to fishermen from the South entering the waters, was also discussed.
