‘Get well soon Boris’ - British Tamils wish PM a speedy recovery

British Tamils across the UK sent Prime Minister Boris Johnson wishes for a speedy recovery as he was discharged from hospital this week.

Photographs posted on the Conservative Party’s official social media pages garnered thousands of likes last week, as the prime minister spent two nights in intensive care after contracting coronavirus.

The images were shared widely and published on pages 2 and 3 of The Telegraph, as supporters across the country sent “get well soon” messages to the prime minister.

Johnson, who has now been discharged, said he had witnessed the "personal courage" of hospital staff on the front line as he heaped praised on the NHS.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock said staff at St Thomas; Hospital where Johnson was admitted "have cared for him as they would have cared for anybody in this country," which was "one of the things that makes me so proud that the NHS is there for us all”.

"I cannot thank our magnificent NHS enough,” added Johnson’s fiancee Carrie Symonds.
