Multiple Catholic shrines damaged in Mannar

Three different Catholic shrines were found attacked this morning by unidentified persons in Mannar.

The suspects had allegedly hurled stones at the shrines, shattering the glass shield covering the idols, according to locals.

Following a complaint filed by the locals, Mannar police officers and forensic officers, are currently conducting further investigations into the incidents.

In the past three days, six other Catholic shrines have also been targeted for attacks by unknown persons, pointing to the growing religious intolerance on the island.
