Tamil families of disappeared protest on Human Rights Day in East

Families of the disappeared in the Eastern Province protested in Amparai on Monday to mark International Human Rights Day and call for answers and justice for their disappeared relatives.

Families and disappearance activists from all three districts of the East - Amparai, Batticaloa and Trincomalee - came together in Thirukkovil in Amparai to protest. Protesters also called for the release of Tamil political prisoners and the repeal of the Prevention of Terrorism Act.
