A Sri Lankan soldier was arrested with cannabis in Vavuniya on Friday morning according to Vavuniya police.
The soldier was arrested when police stopped and searched a Jaffna to Colombo-bound bus at Nochchimoddai bridge in Vavuniya.
He was allegedly in possession of 200 grammes of cannabis, and was taken into custody to be produced before the Vavuniya magistrates court pending further investigation.
Police refused to disclose the soldier’s camp or division details or any further details.
