Sirisena, Ranil and Mahinda all racists says former Rajapaksa minister

President Maithripala Sirisena, Ranil Wickremesinghe and Mahinda Rajapaksa are all racists and whoever comes to power will not advance the Tamil people, the Democratic People's Congress leader and former minister under Mahinda Rajapaksa, Prabha Ganesan has said.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Mannar District Office of Democratic People's Congress, Ganesan questioned what the so-called good-governance government had done for the Tamil people.

“They said we will give federalism, we will merge the North and East, we will release political prisoners, we will find the disappeared – but nothing has happened,” he said.

Ganesan, a former parliamentarian who was elected under the United National Front (UNF) in 2010, defected to Rajapaksa’s United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) in the same year. He was immediately suspended from his party, the Democratic People’s Front – led by his brother Mano Ganesan, leading to his founding the Democratic People’s Congress.

He was appointed deputy minister in 2014 and remained loyal to Rajapaksa in the 2015 election although did not directly contest, being placed instead on the UPFA’s national list. However he was not selected to take a seat in parliament following the election.
