Ilankai Tamil Arasu Katchi (ITAK) MP S Shritharan handed coconut saplings and dry food packages to the parents and families of those who lost their lives in the armed conflict.

Posting on X, Shritharan wrote:

"The only thing that will satisfy parents who have sacrificed their children for this nation is the assurance that we will shape our generation in a way that will not diminish the Tamil national spirit."

Events are taking place across the Tamil homeland and in the diaspora to mark Maaveerar remembrance week.
