The Officer-in-Charge of the Omanthai Police Station has been accused of threatening a Tamil quarry operator who obtained quarry dust for a stone crushing facility in Vavuniya's Omanthai division.

According to further information, a man operating a stone crushing unit in the Kondakkaran Kulam area of Omanthai had purchased cement, sand, and quarry dust for use in his operations. The Omanthai Police OIC, who arrived at the premises dressed in civilian attire, inquired about the source of the quarry dust and demanded the relevant receipts.

In response, the owner stated that the materials had been obtained from a quarry owned by an individual named Rajapaksa and that the payment had been made via cheque. He further explained that receipts are typically not issued for transactions involving sand, stone, or quarry dust.

Despite this explanation, the OIC allegedly asserted his position, saying “I am the OIC,” and threatened the facility owner. A video related to this incident has gone viral on social media.
