Batticaloa residents criticise government failure to provide water

Residents in Unnichchai and surronding villages protested on Monday, accusing the government of failing to provide an adequate supply of clean drinking water.

Protesters said the state was providing drinking water from the reservoir in Unnichchai to all other parts in Batticaloa, but their village and few other villages such as Nediyamadu, Gandhinagar, Pavatkodichchenai, Aayithiyamalai were not provided with clean water.
