Remembrance Day marked by Sydney Tamils

Over 3,000 Sydney Tamils came together to observe Remembrance Day events on November 27th at the Newington Reserve, Silverwater. The event commenced the lighting of the lamp by Mr Jessy, brother of two heroes - Iniyavan (Rames) and Ashokan (Vennilavan). Tens of thousands of British Tamils attended Eelam Remembrance Day events held across the capital and the UK, honouring the sacrifice of those who gave their lives for to the struggle for Tamil Eelam - the nation's heroes. Eelam Tamils in Auckland, New Zealand marked 'Maaverar Thinam 2011' on 27th November, Eelam's Remembrance Day. London universities hold ‘Youth Maaveerar Naal’

British Tamil students held an event at London South Bank University on Friday, dedicated to remembering to the young men and women who sacrificed their lives in the struggle for Eelam. Imperial's Tamil society launch 2011's 'Breaking the Silence'

Tamil societies in universities across London have come together to hold 'Breaking the Silence' - a fortnight of exhibitions aimed at raising awareness about the war crimes and genocide comitted against the Tamils in the North-East. Four very talented young singers from Chennai, India entertained cheering audiences in London, during Junior Super Star's premiere in the UK. Fourth anniversary of Tamilselvan’s death commemorated in Europe

Events were held in Coventry, Britain and Berlin, Germany to remember the LTTE’s political leader Brigadier S.P. Tamilselvan and the five soldiers who were killed with him on 2nd November 2007.
