TNPF May Day rally participants face intimidation from Sri Lankan police

Participants at the Tamil National Peoples’ Front May Day rally this week faced intimidation by Sri Lankan police officers, who photographed attendees as they marched through Jaffna.

The rally, which took place in Chavakachcheri, saw dozens of people march through the town.

As demonstrators marched, Sri Lankan police officials were seen photographing attendees.

The mother of Vallipuram Vasanthan - known by the nom de guerre Captain Miller – the first Black Tiger of the LTTE, lit a flame of remembrance at the rally.
