Militarisation: Sri Lankan soldiers teach schoolchildren in Trinco

In the face of continued calls for demilitarisation of the North-East, the Sri Lankan army continued to intrude on civilian life in the region, by holding a course for schoolchildren in Trincomalee last week.

Fifty-two school students between the ages of 10 and 15, were taught basic computers skills by military personnel.

The latest such move from the military comes as it continues to consolidate its presence across the North-East, despite continued calls for demilitarisation.
