Buddhist ceremony held to bless Sri Lankan troops in East

The Sri Lankan military held a Buddhist ceremony as their Eastern province headquarters “to invoke blessings on troops,” reports an official military website.

The four-day long ceremony saw senior officers and other soldiers light clay lamps, as the Chief Incumbent Buddhist monk of the Sri Bodhiraja Temple came to the military base.

The website went on to state,

“The prelate wished long life to the HE the President and the government, all Tri Services and their brave members… and invoked blessings on valiant soldiers who sacrificed their supreme lives to restore the territorial integrity of mother Sri Lanka”.
