A Tamil worker was killed in a landmine explosion during de-mining work in Mankulam on Monday.
The victim was identified as 24-year-old Pathmanathan Thileepan from Paravipanchan, Kilinochchi.
Another worker from Omanthai was admitted to Vavuniya hospital with injuries.
Over 80 mines have been discovered since work began in Mankulam, Mullaitivu at the beginning of August.
