A documentary filmed and produced by British Tamil students highlighting the struggle of Tamil families of the disappeared protesting across the North-East has been released online today.
The documentary, entitled ‘Sri Lanka’s Disappeared’, was made freely available online after a series of screenings worldwide over the last year.
Featuring interviews with the mothers and civil society activists in the North-East, the documentary aims to raise awareness of the ongoing protests by the families and to encourage support on the issue of disappearances in Sri Lanka, said a member of the production team.
“We hope that by producing this film, we have showcased the incredible courage that these women continue to show in their struggle for truth and justice,” they continued. “To those that watch the film, we hope you listen to these women, take strength in their bravery and join the call for accountability”.
