The lawyers of Kenya’s deputy president, William Ruto, filed a request today that asked judges of the International Criminal Court to meet in an emergency session, to adjourn the deputy president's trial.

The lawyers outlined that Ruto was needed to deal with the aftermath of the terrorist attack on Kenyan civilians, stating,

Pakistan released the Taliban's second in command, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, on Saturday.

The release was welcomed by Afghanistan who believe Baradar capable of encouraging Taliban leaders to engage in talks and have requested that Pakistan allow Baradar to come to Afghanistan - a request that Pakistan has denied.

A spokesperson for Afghan President Hamid Karzai said,

"The Afghan government welcomes Pakistan's decision to release Mullah Baradar,"

 The African Union has called a special summit to discuss a mass withdrawal from the Internationl Criminal Court in protest at the trial of Kenya’s Deputy President William Ruto.

A letter sent to the ICC signed by African leaders argued that Ruto’s presence at The Hague was detrimental to the future of Kenya.

The United States is willing to engage in talks with Iran regarding its nuclear program "on the basis of mutual respect" said the White House on Friday.

The deputy spokesperson, Josh Earnest said:

"We have had a number of engagements with the Iranians and we'll continue to have conversations on the basis of mutual respect,"

Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad expressed his commitment to international calls to destroy Syrian chemical weapons, outlining that it would take a year.

Speaking to Fox News, Assad also denied allegations that his forces were responsible for the deadly chemical massacre on the 21^st of August.

A US court has deemed that Almaz Nezirevic, a prison guard from Bosnia who is suspected of committing war crimes, can be extradited to Bosnia due to a sufficient amount of evidence against him.

Nezirevic has resided in the US, in Virginia, for over fifteen years.

In 1992, whilst working at Rabic detention centre in Derventa in Northern Bosnia, Nezirevic reportedly used a rifle and baton to beat prisoners and forced them to crawl on the floor and ear grass urinated on.

The United Nation's defended the report released on Monday, which confirmed the use of sarin nerve agent in a chemical weapon attack in Syria, as "indisputable".

Speaking to the press on Wednesday the UN spokesperson Martin Nesirky said,

"The findings in that report are indisputable,"

"They speak for themselves and this was a thoroughly objective report on that specific incident."
