Sri Lanka High Commissioner to Pakistan, vice-admiral Mohan Wijewickrema, has held discussions with Pakistan’s Navy chief Admiral Amjad Niazi over maritime security and bilateral cooperation.

In June, Pakistan’s Prime Minister stressed the country’s relationship with Sri Lanka. Pakistan has sold hundreds of millions of dollars worth of military equipment to Sri Lanka over the years, including the final years of the armed conflict where such were used to massacre tens of thousands of Tamil civilians.
