Sri Lanka parliament reconvenes as 16 SLFP MPs cross over to Joint Opposition

Sri Lanka’s parliament re convened with 16 SLFP MPs and resigned Ministers crossing sides to sit with Mahinda Rajapaksa’s joint opposition.

The 16 SLFP MPs walked across the Parliament chambers, with the Joint Opposition MPs banging their desks to welcome them, reports the island.lk.

The MPs who crossed over to the opposition yesterday are Dayasiri Jayasekera, S.B Dissanayake, Susil Premajayantha, Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, Chandima Weerakkody, T. B Ekanayake, WDJ Seneviratne, Thilanga Sumathipala, Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena, Dilan Perera, Sudarshani Fernandopulle, Anuradha Jayaratne, Susantha Punchinilame, Lakshman Wasantha Perera, Tharanath Basnayake and Sumedha G. Jayasena.
