Sri Lankan riot police deployed after Sinhala extremists disrupt Mullivaikkal commemoration in Borella

Sri Lankan riot police were deployed to Borella after Sinhala extremists disrupted a commemoration event which was dedicated to the victims of the Tamil genocide at Mullivaikkal 14 years ago. 

Individuals from the extremist group "Ravana Balaya" tried to disturb a commemoration event organised by activists in the South outside Borella cemetery as the Tamil nation mourns the deaths of tens of thousands of Tamils slaughtered by the state's armed forces in the final days of the armed conflict. 

The individuals pushed back Newswire reported that the extremists held placards that read "No to LTTE commemorations".
