Parents of Maaveerar honoured in Batticaloa

Parents of Maaveerar, fallen LTTE fighters, were honoured in Batticaloa on Saturday.

Photographs of 100 fighters were displayed at the event in Vellaveli. Each family placed lit lamps and flower garlands on the image of their fallen loved ones.

The framed image of the Maaveerar and a tree sapling was presented to each family at the end of the event, a tradition established by the LTTE.
