Pakistan PM and Gotabaya discuss bilateral cooperation

Pakistan Prime Minister, Imran Khan, telephoned Gotabaya Rajapaksa, to congratulate him on becoming Sri Lanka's newly elected president, Colombo Gazette reported.

Bilateral relations between Pakistan and Sri Lanka were discussed during the call, with both leaders agreeing to increase bilateral cooperation. Khan also extended an invitation to Gotabaya to visit Pakistan at his earliest convenience which Gotabaya accepted. 

Following Gotabaya's election, Khan tweeted that "Pakistan looks forward to working closely with him & with Sri Lanka, for further deepening & broadening our brotherly ties & close cooperation for peace, progress and prosperity of our people."
