The head of the the Ilankai Tamil Arasu Katchi (ITAK) and other senior Tamil National Alliance (TNA) politicians commemorated Maaveerar Naal at their Jaffna office earlier today, as they paid tribute to fallen liberation fighters. 
ITAK leader Mavai Senathirajah led the tributes, and was joined by the the TNA’s Mayor of Jaffna Emmanuel Arnold, as well as other senior politicians.
Sri Lanka is one of the most dangerous places in the world to be a journalist. Tamil journalists are particularly at threat, with at least 41 media workers known to have been killed by the Sri Lankan state or its paramilitaries during and after the armed conflict.
