India loans US$45 million to Sri Lanka for renovation of KKS

The Indian government has signed an agreement with Sri Lanka that will see it loan US$ 45.27 million (Rs. 6.9 billion) to renovate the Kankesanthurai Harbour in Jaffna.

An agreement between the two governments was signed in New Delhi today and comes after years of talks around the KKS harbour.

The Indian High Commission in Colombo commented that the signing was “transforming promises into reality”.
