Amparai village's land release protest passes 55 days

Residents of a village in Pottuvil, Amparai, are still protesting for the return of their lands, 55 days on.

The people of Kanagar village were displaced around 1990 by the Sri Lankan army and returned after the war to find their lands occupied by the Sri Lankan wildlife department as well as military forces.

The villagers said they would continue the protest until their lands were returned.
