9 skeletons uncovered in Mullaitivu

A mass grave was uncovered in Udayairkattu, Mullaitivu on Thursday reports BBC Tamil.


Two skeletons wrapped in a mat were found in a family's back yard at their home which is situated within a housing development whilst surface work was being carried out.

Up to nine skeletons were uncovered after further excavations on Friday. A severely damaged identification card was also reportedly found with the remains.

Police were present during the excavation and will reportedly be investigating.
