4.5 acres of land in Kankesanthurai were released by the Sri Lankan Army today, after 27 years of occupation.
The relevant documents were handed over to the Jaffna District Government Agent, N. Vethanayagam by Jaffna Commander Darshana Hettiarachchi.
As with most land released from high security zones, residents returned to dilapidated and some completely demolished homes.
