Thousands of British Tamils gathered at London ExCel yesterday to mark Maaveerar Naal.
The flag of Tamil Eelam was hoisted while ‘Eruthu Paar Kodi’ the Tamil Eelam flag song was played.
Selvachandran Sinnathurai, father of the first Maaveerar, Lt. Shankar, lit the sacrificial flame. Lt. Shankar died in combat on 27 November 1982, marking 40 years since his sacrifice.
