British Tamils celebrate annual sports day

Last month, British Tamils participated in various sports events organised by the Tamil Coordinating Committee (TCC). The sports competitions commenced following tribute to the fallen freedom fighters and the hoisting of the Tamil National Flag.

TCC’s Head of Sports Department, Mr Koothai, raised the Tamil Eelam National Flag, whilst Head of Youth Coordinating Committee, Ms Barbara Rajan, was seen hoisting the British flag.

The event was overseen by Metropolitan police officers, some of whom were seen engaging with the Mehndi stall.

Winners of the football, cricket and other games were awarded with trophies and presents. Siobhain McDonagh, Member of Parliament for Mitcham and Morden, attended the event and presented trophies.
