China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi is set to make an official visit to Sri Lanka upon the invitation of Sri Lanka’s Foreign Affairs Minster Magnala Samaraweera.
Mr Yi will meet with Sri Lanka’s president, prime minister and hold talks with Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera said China’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson.
“China looks forward to taking this visit to implement the important consensus reached by the leadership, step up cooperation on politics, trade and investment, industrial capacity, tourism and people-to-people exchanges, and score new heights for the China – Sri Lanka strategic cooperative partnership featuring sincerity, mutual assistance and long-lasting friendship.”
The visit is expected to take place for 3 days commencing July 8, reports Colombo page.
