A domestic accountability process on the final stages of the war will begin next week said Sri Lanka’s Foreign Minister in a press brief on Thursday.
The UNHRC resolution which Sri Lanka co-sponsored in September called for an adequate consultation process, witness protection and the involvement of foreign judges, prosecutors and investigators in any process going forward.

Following talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway Borge Brende, Mangala Samaraweera said,
“The domestic mechanisms through which we are trying to address this past, are in the process of being developed and the consultation process to design these mechanisms, will begin next week."
Mr Samaraweera added that a special session of parliament on Saturday will form a constitutional council, a committee consisting of the whole parliament, to consult and draft a new constitution for Sri Lanka, reports Colombo Gazette
