Tamils in London held a demonstration on Wednesday in solidarity with Tamils in Jaffna, who a few hours before had come out in their thousands to call for the immediate release of the UN inquiry into mass atrocities against the Tamil people and reject a domestic Sri Lankan inquiry as a means of delivering justice.

Holding placards demanding an international mechanism of inquiry and justice into the crime of genocide, protesters echoed the words of the Tamils in Jaffna, who had criticised the UN Human Rights Council's decision to defer the release of the inquiry report by six months. "Justice delay is justice denied," said protesters.
The protest took place outside the US embassy in London.
