Boko Haram ‘massacre’ in Cameroon

Militants from Boko Haram have killed over 100 people in the Cameroonian border town of Fotokol, reports Reuters.

According to a local leader, residents were killed inside their homes and mosques.

"Boko Haram entered Fotokol through Gambaru early in the morning and they killed more than 100 people in the mosque, in the houses and they burned property," said the civic leader Abatchou Abatcha, who said he lost one of his sons during the raid.

The massacre comes as Chadian troops killed over 200 militants in their attempt to clear Gamboru of Boko Haram forces, pushing the militants across the border into Cameroon.
