Black Tigers Day commemorated in Paris

French Tamils commemorated Black Tigers Day in Paris earlier this month, paying tribute to fighters of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).

An event was held in Bobigny, with musical tributes and flowers laid before portraits of fallen cadres.

Relatives of martyred LTTE cadres were the first to light lamps and place flowers before portraits. Those in attendance included; the mother of Major Sudayini who died in an encounter with the Sri Lanka Navy at Paruthithurai on 13.01.1994, the brother of Major Inban who died in an encounter with the Sri Lanka Army in Kokuvil on 20.06.1999, the brother of 2nd Lt. Kandipan who was martyred on 02.04.2000 in Palai and the brother of Captain Bharata who died in a 1988 battle with the Indian Army at Navathkuli.
