Fishermen in Trincomalee on Monday protested demanding the release of land in Kuchchveli from private companies.
The fishermen called for the release of 1318 acres land which had been allotted to the workers in Kumburuppatti in the Kukchurpatti Divisional Secretariat in Trincomalee District.
The protest ended with the fishermen walking towards the District Secretariat and handing over a petition detailing their demands.
