Swiss Tamils were joined by Tamils from France, Germany and the UK at a rally outside the UN Human Rights Council today, calling for justice to be served through an international accountability mechanism.

Speakers at the event, including members of the International Council of Eelam Tamils and the Tamil Youth Organisation, highlighted ongoing violations by the current government and pressed for international involvement in establishing justice and a referendum on a independent Tamil state.
Monday marked the start of the second week of the 32nd Human Rights Council sitting in Geneva. The UN High Commissioner will present an oral update on Sri Lanka to the council next week.
