Tamil trader injured in Jaffna machete attack

A Tamil businessman in Jaffna has been admitted to Jaffna Teaching Hospital with injuries following an assault by unknown persons with a machete.

Mr Sivalingam was returning home with his wife Nilanthini when an unknown attacker assaulted him with a machete, near Jaffna Hindu College on Tuesday evening. Two persons on a motorbike then proceeded to grab Nilanthini’s purse.

Though his wife managed to escape any serious injuries, Mr Sivalingam has been admitted into hospital.
