After the heads of the three branches of the Sri Lankan armed forces met with Mahinda Rajapaksa this weekend, Sri Lankan military websites came out in support of the man they claim is the current prime minister.
The Sri Lankan army, navy and air force websites all declared that the head of each of these branches met with Mahinda Rajapaksa and congratulated him on his new appointment. They also presented Rajapaksa with a gift each. See here, here and here.
The Sri Lankan military carried out a massive military campaign under Rajapaksa that saw tens of thousands of Tamils massacred in 2009. Tens of thousands of Sri Lankan troops remain stationed across the Tamil North-East.
