Sri Lankan army holds Buddhist festivals in North-East

Sri Lankan army troops held Buddhist ceremonies in Mullaitivu and Kilinochchi this week, to invoke Buddhist blessings on the military.

Meanwhile troops at the Forward Maintenance Area in Kilinochchi (FMA-KLN), together with 6 Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps (SLAOC), organised a similar ceremony, complete with soldiers dressed in white waving Buddhist flags, on July 2nd.

In Mullaitivu, troops of the 12 Sri Lanka Light Infantry held a ceremony on July 1st, with Buddhist monks which “invoked merits on fallen War Heroes and blessings on disable soldiers, serving Army personnel and their family members”, according to an official military website.
