The commander of Sri Lanka’s air force visited India this week, becoming the first official in his position to officiate over a commissioning parade of the Indian Air Force.

As chief guest and reviewing officer, Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy oversaw the commission of 110 Indian flight cadets as flying officers on Saturday.

During his trip, the commander also met with military officials and visited the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) office.
