The Serbian Prime Minister was forced to flee the memorial event marking the 20th anniversary of the Srebrenica massacres, as thousands filed along the roads that saw the massacres of over 8,000 Bosnian Muslims in Srebrenica to commemorate the killings.
Aleksander Vucic and his delegation were forced to leave the event after mourners hurled stones and bottles at the Serbian Prime Minister.
Two international courts have labelled the massacre as a genocide, a term which Mr Vucic still refuses to accept. So far 6,974 victims of the massacre have been named, with 136 new names being released on the 20th anniversary of the massacre. Remains and bodies continue to be uncovered.
Before the memorial event, Mr Vucic, in an open letter said,
"Serbia clearly and unambiguously condemns this horrible crime and is disgusted with all those who took part in it and will continue to bring them to justice."
Some mourners at the event held banners displaying wartime quotes by Mr Vucic. One of them read, "for every killed Serb, we will kill 100 Bosniaks," reports the Telegraph.
