India - Sri Lanka MoUs signed as Modi arrives


India and Sri Lanka began bilateral discussions as the Indian prime minister Narendra Modi arrived in Sri Lanka on the early hours of Friday morning and met with the Sri Lankan president, Maithripala Sirisena.

Four MoUs were signed, including a visa exemption agreement for diplomats and state officials, cooperation in customs affairs and youth development, and establishment of the Rabindranath Tagore Memorial Auditorium at the University of Ruhuna in the Matara region of Sri Lanka.

India has pledged Rs 300 million for the building of the auditorium.
