A video has emerged from last week, of the TNA leader R Sampanthan facing distressed and angered Tamils, demanding that he get down from the car.
The Tamils had been demonstrating against the disappearances of their loved ones outside the Jaffna library during the British Prime Minister's visit to Jaffna, in the hope that they would get a chance to tell him their stories and express their desire for justice.
At the time, witnesses reported that the demonstrators had becoming openly hostile towards the TNA delegation who in the back seat of private vehicles, in order to have a private meeting with Mr Cameron. The delegation, which included R Sampanthan, the Chief Minister CV Wigneswaran and MA Sumanthiran, were accused by the demonstrators of not being touch with the concerns of the people and not ensuring that Mr Cameron visited the protesters.
The video, which is being widely circulated across social media sites by users in the North-East and diaspora locations, shows Mr Sampanthan's vehicle being halted by Tamil demonstrators, who surround the car.
