The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein, said he will be "listening to everything" that representatives will discuss in talks, as he arrived in Sri Lanka on Saturday ahead of his visit to the Tamil North-East.
The UN Resident Coordinator in Sri Lanka and Sri Lankan Foreign Affairs Minister Mangala Samaraweera received the High Commissioner at the Bandaranaike International Airport.
Speaking to reporters, the human rights chief said he was “looking forward to meeting both the highest officials of the state as well as representatives of all communities.”
“I will be listening to everything they have to say and I look forward to very constructive discussions in the days to come,” he added.
