UK Trade Minister raises concerns over forced cremations

Meeting with Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to the UK, Saroja Sirisena, UK Trade Minister, Mervyn Davies raised concerns over Sri Lanka’s policy of forced cremations and denial of religious rights to Muslims.

This statement follows mounting cross-party concern in the UK over religious freedom in Sri Lanka.

During this meeting, Davies further discussed the prospects of bilateral trade and relationships post-Brexit.
