UK Labour leader sends Puthandu wishes to Tamil community

Jeremy Corbyn, the leader of Britain’s Labour Party, released a message of support to the Tamil community this week as many around the world celebrated New Year festivities.

“Puthandu Vazthukkal to the Tamil community in the UK and to Tamils all around the world,” said Corbyn. “I hope you are enjoying this time with friends and family, I wish you all a prosperous and very happy.”

His message comes as other politicians in the UK and Canada released statements of support and praise for Tamil communities around the world, as many celebrated New Year festivities.
