The bodies of two Tamil men were found in a house in Vavuniya on Saturday, with another man hospitalised in critical condition.
The men were discovered by the Omanthai Police department, who revealed the bodies were both found with massive cuts to the head.
One of the men was identified as 40-year-old former LTTE cadre Gopal Kugathasan. The father of 4, was also the chairman of the local Mannikar Valavu village development association.
The other victim was identified as 34-year-old Sivanu Mahendran, from the village of Karippattamurippu in Mullaitivu.
Subramaniam Sivakaran was reported to be in critical condition after being rushed to the local Vavuniya hospital with serious injuries.
A young man from Mannikar Valavu has been arrested by the Omanthai Police department in suspicion of being involved in the incident.
