TNPF MPs join efforts to clear cemetery for Maaveerar Naal

Parliamentarians from the Tamil National People's Front (TNPF) lent their support to the restoration of a cemetery ahead of the upcoming Maaveerar Naal (Heroes' Day) commemoration this month.

TNPF leader Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam and Selvarajah Kajendran joined local volunteers and community members to clean and restore the Kanjikudicharu cemetery in Amparai, that had been bulldozed by the Sri Lankan state. The cemetery holds the remains of Tamil fighters who gave their lives in the struggle for Tamil self-determination.

Maaveerar Naal, marked on November 27th, is a day when Tamils worldwide pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the Tamil cause.
